I replaced the stock grips awhile ago, so I'll try to remember how I did it. I believe I twisted the grips until they pulled off. I had to insert a screwdriver in between the grip and the handlebar and pry the rubber off, as I believe it is glued on. Once they were removed, the non-throttle grip went on easily but snugly. However, the throttle grip, when I put it on, would only go so far because the plastic ridges of the throttle mechanism were in the way. Using my pocketnife, a razorblade knife would probably be better, I cut the ridges off. However, the new grip still did not fit properly,as there was a plastic piece in the way. I had to reverse the chrome piece that went on first. Hard to explain, but it worked. I think you may have to apply a little creativity to this endeavor. As I did not use Harley grips, your experience might be slightly different. By the way, they fit so snugly I didn't use glue of any kind. They haven't moved in two years. Good luck!
